Documentary Filmmaker



Megan Durnford’s most recent documentary, Last Respects, is about a unique ceremony that honours the lives of Montrealers whose bodies are “unclaimed.” This film has screened at numerous international film festivals. Last Respects won the Betty Youson Award for Best Canadian Short Documentary at the 2023 Hot Docs Canadian International Film Festival.  

Megan has directed six documentary films. These films have screened at conferences and film festivals around the world and they have been broadcast in both English and French. Megan has studied at the Summer Institute of Film and Television in Ottawa and at IDFAcademy in Amsterdam.
